At times the client needs to appoint some construction professional to oversee not just the contractors, but also his design team. This can be highly beneficial for several reasons (see 'Client Adjudicator - technical and cost Benefit Analysis' for clarification.

 

This 'Practice' has undertaken the position of client adviser, representative, lead-consultant and deputising for the client over the years. This has been a highly cost effective service for clients and where if the client has any doubts (with either his consultant or contractor), he can have an independent organization through a second opinion determine the correct situation.

 

The 'Practice' undertakes,

 

  • Advisory works on all matters relative to construction matters. Indeed, if there are any areas where we have not the expertise (there are not many), the 'Practice' has associates in highly skilled and specialist fields, such as nuclear technology et al.
  • Representing the client at both consultant meetings and site meetings
  • Acting as lead-consultant coordinating and programming all specialist consultants
  • Deputising for the client when he or she is not available due to sickness, ill-health or holiday periods et al    

 

These services include,

 

  • Determination of value-for-money engineering and design
  • Determination of value-for-money construction methods
  • Selection of specialist consultants (architects, engineers etc). The horses-for-courses criteria
  • Programming of construction works or determing if the project's programme is optimised and satisfactory
  • Report writing for the client
  • Liaising with the site (both design and construction aspects)
  • Obtaining best value-for money of building components
  • Maximising financial investment for the client
